Charlie Farquharson
You probably knew this guy as one of the regulars on Hee Haw or maybe you saw the episode in Season XIII when we made him a Charter Member of the Lodge. I’m sad to say he passed away in January. He was one of my personal comedic heroes because he seemed dull and even a little slow but he was sharp as a tack and quick as lightning. And he was a kind and gentle man. His real name was Don Harron. He was a comic, journalist, actor, director, author, playwright and composer. When he was on the show he would go out to the audience between scenes and get them laughing instantly. A friend told me he spoke at their event by picking up a local newspaper and giving his take on the stories in it. Not scripted. Just fast and funny. He died at the age of 90. Still too soon. RIP Charlie.
