The first time I saw the show was in '99 while I was in Baldwin Michigan. A high school friend and I traveled from Chicago to Baldwin so that we could ride our dirt bikes on the trails up there. After unpacking our supplies and unloading the bikes we sat down and watch a little TV before getting some shuteye before our big ride. The show that we were drawn to was, you guessed it, the Red Green Show. We couldn't stop laughing and on our ride back to Chicago we kept talking about the show. A few months passed by and my buddy called me and said you'll never guess what I just watched. He told me it was the show and he found in on a PBS station on cable. I know it wasn't our local PBS station which is WTTW. But, like him I found it every now and again on whatever cable channel it was. It was never listed on any TV guide so it was just by chance that I would get to watch again.
So as time has passed and we have access to things like YouTube I get to watch full seasons whenever I want. Which leads me to another story. I'm a firefighter with Chicago but my second job is working at a family run auto parts store. We have a computer that is connected to a TV and my boss asked me to find some YouTube videos that would be related to what we do and sell. Once I did they couldn't take there eyes off the TV or stop laughing. When customers are watching the show I noticed you will get one of two responses. 1. They get caught up watching the show and have a hard time leaving the store or 2. They say "hey, isn't the the Red Green show?"
Hope that wasn't to hard to get through. I try to get on Twitch whenever possible because I love to hear the commentary on behind the scenes stuff, or just answer questions we throw at Dave. Another story, my wife had to go to the doctors to get a couple procedures done and I had to bring my Red Green book "How to do everything". I found the looks I was getting very entertaining.
