My name is Justin and I've been a member of the lodge since early in 2011. Growing up, we didn't have cable, so I watched a lot of PBS. Red Green came on every Friday night. It is such a clean show that the whole family could watch.
When I left home and joined the Army, I was fortunate enough to have episodes on YouTube to watch. In 2008-2009, I was stationed in eastern Afghanistan on a small forward operating base. We didn't have much to do other than work, workout and go to bed. I was able to order the "Stuffed and Mounted" set and have it shipped to me. Before I went to bed every night, I would listen to the radio and watch a couple episodes of Red Green. The series has been a part of my life ever since. I am active duty in the United States Army and just began my 14th year of service. I sometimes wear my red and green suspenders under my uniform, especially when I'm missing my farm.
My first love in life is to my home state of Texas, followed by my love for hunting and fishing. After that, it's a love of fitness and cooking.
I often describe the Red Green show is a mix of Saturday Night Live and Field & Stream. His gun safety video (from Smith and Smith) is one of the gag videos I show during deer season to my hunting buddies.
I have been to two of Red's standup shows and I've been wildly entertained each time. Red Green has been there during some of the more difficult times in my life and I am eternally grateful for the happiness and smiles he and his crew have brought to our lives. Entertainers often give so much of their lives to us and I feel grateful that I have been able to be on this earth during the same time as him.
